Terms of service

1. The service

ryser.id, operated by Ryser (Ryan Poser), Groenlingstraat 12, 1706 BL Heerhugowaard, the Netherlands (KVK 86346512, VAT NL004231102B27), analyzes DJ sets and mixes and returns a best-effort tracklist with timestamps, BPM and key. Recognition is inherently imperfect: unreleased, edited or obscure tracks may not be identified, and identifications may occasionally be wrong. That is the nature of the product, not a defect.

2. Your account

Without an account you can try one set as a guest and see the first part of its tracklist; the full result, your history and everything else need an account. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure. One person per account.

3. Minutes and plans

• 1 credit = 1 minute of analyzed audio. Every account has 120 free minutes a month: the free allowance is refilled to 120 on the first of the month and does not stack.
• Monthly plans: Opener (€2.50/month) includes 360 minutes (6 hours) of analysis a month, Headliner (€5/month) 600 minutes (10 hours), and Studio (€10/month) 1,200 minutes (20 hours), each with the features listed on the pricing page. The allowance resets every billing month and does not carry over. A monthly plan runs month to month until you cancel it.
• Yearly plans: the same three plans can be paid once a year: Opener (€25/year), Headliner (€50/year) and Studio (€100/year). A yearly plan includes the same minutes every month as the monthly plan, not all at once: the first month’s minutes when the payment clears, then each month’s on the same day of the month as the year began; they do not carry over. A yearly plan renews for another year at its price unless you cancel it before the renewal date; we email you a reminder 30 days before it renews. If you cancel, it runs to the end of the year you paid for and is not billed again. A monthly subscriber can move to the same plan by the year: the unused part of the current month is credited and the difference is charged at once.
• Lifetime plans: the same three plans can be bought once, for life. Section 4 says what that means.
• Earlier purchases: minutes bought as a credit pack never expire; packs are no longer sold since 30 September 2026. A plan bought at an earlier price keeps that price and its allowance for as long as it runs, and an annual plan bought before that date runs to the end of its twelve-month term.
• Credits are consumed when an analysis runs. If a run fails on our side, the credits are automatically refunded.
• A set longer than your minutes is still analysed to the end. Your minutes cover it from the start until they run out, and that part of the tracklist is shown; the rest is identified too but stays locked until you unlock it with a plan or by paying for that set. This applies to every set, the first one included.
• Minutes back. While minutes back applies to your account, we compare, once a set is done, the minutes of the tracks we identified in the whole set, its locked part included, with the minutes the set cost. If we identified fewer, the difference is returned to your balance automatically: up to 120 minutes a calendar month on the free plan, and up to a plan’s monthly minutes on a plan.
• Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.

4. Lifetime plans

• What you buy. Opener Lifetime (€25), Headliner Lifetime (€50) or Studio Lifetime (€150), paid once. Each has a fixed number of seats (30, 20, 10); when a plan’s seats are gone, it is sold out.
• “Lifetime” means for as long as ryser.id runs the service, for the account that bought it. A lifetime plan cannot be transferred to another account or person, and it cannot be resold.
• What is included is what your receipt says: the plan’s hours of analysis every month (Opener 6, Headliner 10, Studio 20), refilled at the start of each calendar month and not carried over, plus the features of that plan on the day you buy it. Features we add later are not promised. If a plan gains one, that is a bonus, not a right.
• What can change. The recognition sources we use, the speed of an analysis and the share of tracks it names can change over time, for every plan. That alone is not a reduction of the service in the sense of the next point.
• If the service stops or is materially reduced (for example, when a recognition source disappears and the plan’s hours or features can no longer be delivered as bought), we tell you at least 60 days in advance. You then choose between keeping the reduced plan and a pro-rata refund over 36 months: the price divided by 36, for every month of the first 36 months after your purchase that has not yet passed. From 36 months after the purchase, no refund is due.
• Fair use. A lifetime plan is for your own sets on your own account, within the plan’s monthly hours. Sharing the account, automated bulk use or reselling what the service produces is not fair use; we may limit or end the plan for it, as section 10 describes.
• Withdrawal. Within 14 days of the purchase, and as long as you have not used a single minute of the plan, you can withdraw and get the full price back: email [email protected]. Once you use a minute of it, the right of withdrawal for the purchase ends (section 5).
• A refunded or disputed lifetime purchase ends the plan and its minutes.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

As an EU consumer you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on online purchases. Minutes reach your account the moment your payment clears, so every purchase here is delivered inside that period. Before you pay, we therefore ask you to tick a box confirming two things: that you want us to start immediately, and that you understand you lose the right of withdrawal for what you use. Nothing is charged until you have ticked it. On that basis:

• The rule, in one line: as long as you have not used a single minute of what a purchase gave you, you can withdraw within 14 days and get all of your money back. Use one minute of it, and the withdrawal right for that purchase is gone.
• Subscriptions: while your monthly minutes are untouched, the "Withdraw subscription" button on your account page ends the subscription immediately and refunds the payment in full. The button disappears once you spend from that month’s minutes. You can still cancel at any time after that; a monthly plan then runs to the end of the month you paid for. An annual plan (no longer sold) is a fixed term of twelve months: it ends by itself, is never renewed automatically, and we remind you a week before it ends.
• Lifetime plans, the founder seats included: within 14 days of purchase you can request a full refund at [email protected], provided the minutes it granted are unused.
• Credit packs (no longer sold): an unused pack can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase. Email [email protected].
• If a run fails on our side, the minutes are returned to you automatically, so a failure on our end never counts as use and never costs you the right.

6. Acceptable use

• Only submit content you are allowed to have analyzed: your own sets, sets published by their creators on public platforms, or content you otherwise have rights to.
• No attempts to circumvent credits, rate limits or plan gating; no resale of the service or API output as a competing service; no disruptive scraping or automated abuse.
• Community features (comments, suggestions, public sets) must stay free of unlawful, hateful or infringing content. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content & copyright

You keep all rights to the audio you upload and the setlists you create. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service: processing the audio for recognition, storing your results, and (only when you set a set to public) displaying it to others. Playback of platform-hosted sets streams from the original platform via its own embedded player; we do not re-host that audio.

YouTube: sets from YouTube play in YouTube’s own embedded player, through the YouTube API Services. By using ryser.id you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Takedown: if you believe content on ryser.id infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the URL and a description of the claim. We review promptly and remove infringing content.

8. The public API

The public read API and the MCP server need no key and no account. They are free to use within their documented rate limits, which we may adjust to protect the service. They are in beta: endpoints are stable but may evolve with notice.

9. Availability & liability

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is": no guaranteed uptime, recognition rate or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the account page; this permanently removes your data (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with a refund of unused paid credits unless the violation involves fraud or abuse.

11. Referral programme

• How it works. Every account has a personal referral link. Someone who creates an account through your link starts with 60 extra minutes. Once they finish their first set of 20 minutes or longer, 60 minutes are added to your account.
• Vesting. Your reward is pending for 7 days and is only paid out if the referred account is still active and in good standing at the end of that period.
• Caps. At most 10 rewards per calendar month and 1,200 referral minutes over the lifetime of an account.
• No cash value. Referral minutes are credits under section 3: non-transferable, not redeemable for money, and not refundable.
• Abuse. Referring yourself, creating accounts for other people, sharing the link through unsolicited e-mail or messages (which is prohibited under the Dutch Telecommunications Act), or any other scheme to farm minutes voids the reward. We may reverse referral minutes that were granted this way and suspend the accounts involved.
• Changes. We may change or end the programme at any time; rewards already vested are kept.

12. Changes & governing law

We may amend these terms; material changes are announced at least 14 days in advance by email or in the app. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by Dutch law; disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
